Kaywanna Bore Water Board

Reports › Report to Ratepayers - April 16th 2007

In the past twelve months, considerable work has been carried out on the bore infrastructure.

In July and August 2006, special maintenance (replacing galvanized fittings) was completed through “Cranbrae”, “Bernlea”, “Hillview”, “Maranui”, “Waverley”, “Willow Glen”, “Walton Downs” and part of “Arden Downs”. I extend my thanks to Board members and some ratepayers who assisted with the work.

In February, the vari-speed drive was replaced at the Boogara booster station.

Recently, there have been a few intermittent malfunctions at the main bore. It is possible that the main distributor vari-drive is due for replacement.

More special maintenance will be carried out this winter. This work will take several more years until all galvanized fittings have been replaced. Many of the air valves are being removed (surplus to requirements) as this work is done.

Generally, the system has been operating quite satisfactorily and no complaints have been received.

I extend my appreciation to the board members as we approach the end of the three-year Board term.

Geoff Woods
Chairman
